Home School Agreement

Home/School Cooperation

You are your child's first teacher and the work you do with them is invaluable.

We believe that education is a partnership between home and the school and we encourage parents to take a full and active part in the life of the school and their children's education.

Home School Agreements are issued to all families joining the school. They outline the responsibilities of the school, the parents and the child. Teachers, parents and children are expected to sign the agreements, which are kept in school as part of the child’s records.

At the beginning of each academic term, teachers invite parents to a ‘Teach-In’ at which they go through how their class operates and the topics they will be covering during the term. They will also give an overview of how subjects are taught in their specific year group so parents are able to support their children by using the correct methods and techniques at home.

We have an open door policy and parents are welcome to make a private appointment to discuss their child’s progress as and when necessary and at a mutually convenient time for the parent/s as well as class teacher. Alongside this, school reports are sent home three times a year and there are three Parents’ Evenings throughout the year. Please see the LPPA section for more information.

A weekly round-up is sent out to parents to update them on events for the following week and each term a list of notable dates is issued for parents’ information. A newsletter is also sent out at the end of each term to celebrate the amazing work that has taken place that term. In addition to this, Twitter is constantly updated and is a fantastic way of being about to see, and comment on, what is happening in school on a daily basis.
