We are proud that Danesfield has been recognised as a Microsoft Showcase School since January 2016, as a result of our continued drive to develop the use of technology and 21st Century Learning approaches across the primary curriculum.
We pride ourselves on teaching in innovative and creative ways, effectively using technology in lessons to enhance and extend learning. This helps us to prepare the children at Danesfield, not only for the next stage of their education, but also for the demands of the 21st century workplace.
We are also one of only six Microsoft Training Academies in the country and in 2019, were selected as an EdTech 50 School, highlighting Danesfield as one of the top 50 in the country for the use of technology in education.
Danesfield works closely with Microsoft to lead innovation in education and to host training days to support other schools in the community. This is achieved by encouraging them to develop a vision, address barriers and tailor a plan to support and mentor their staff through the process of implementing technology throughout their setting. In doing so, we are able to share the incredible practice and use of technology found throughout our school and through the Microsoft Educator Community.
Our staff consistently update their knowledge and understanding of how best to use technology and 21st century learning approaches in lessons, making learning accessible to all children through innovation and technology.
Each of our teachers at Danesfield has been selected as Microsoft Innovative Educator Experts (or MIEEs) in recognition of the innovative use of technology in their classrooms. Mrs Morgan and Mr McGinnes regularly attend and present at Education Technology events including BETT and Microsoft Education’s annual event E2. These opportunities bring together the most innovative educators from around the world to collaborate, create and share their experiences on how to integrate technology and pedagogy to advance learning, achieve student outcomes and transform education.
